An industry leader since 1938, Jersey Shore Steel Company entered the new millennium with a revamped production facility designed to combine our decades of expertise with the world's most current technology. A $10 million investment, our new facility has produced dramatic improvements in productivity, efficiency, and product quality. The upgrade has also greatly increased the range of rail sizes we can process and extended our worldwide access to raw material.

The World's Most Current Technology

Designed and equipped by Danieli Automation, the international leader in steel rolling technology, our new production facility utilizes equipment from the most respected names in the industry. A computer-controlled furnace, manufactured by Bricmont, heats T-rails to more than 2300°F to prepare them for slitting. After slitting, head, web, and flange are routed to a series of mill stands configured in two linear process lines. Hot rail sections are then progressively reduced and shaped into rail steel angles.

Computer-Controlled Rolling Process

Under our new system, all aspects of the rolling process can be monitored from our control tower using information relayed by sensors and cameras. In addition, a new profile gauge utilizes laser technology to continually measure rail steel angles for conformance to critical tolerances.

Precise Angles & High-Quality
Surface Finish

At the center of the Jersey Shore Steel rolling process are hardened steel rolls made on CNC-controlled precision lathes which emphasize and maintain roll finish and profile. Mounted in horizontal and vertical mill stands, these rolls gradually shape and finish rail sections into precise rail steel angles with a high-quality surface finish.
